ALBERTO BAROVIER – MID BOWMAN
Alberto Barovier, 38 years old, from Venice, was an accomplished skier before becoming a successful sailor. He took part in three Cup campaigns, the latest one with BMW ORACLE Racing, while in the 2003 campaign he was Luna Rossa’s bowman. He has 11 World championships under his belt, 3 European titles and he has been 12 times Italian champion. Albi, as his friends call him, is a multi faceted sailor and is currently preparing his qualification campaign for the 2012 Olympics in London in Star, a class in which he has excelled on an international level. After many years getting soaked on the bow, in his return on Mascalzone Latino he will be the mid bowman, but that won’t let him stay too dry either.
