GAVIN BRADY

GAVIN BRADY- SKIPPER and HELMSMAN
Kiwi, 37 years old, Gavin literally grew up at sea. His family lived on a boat that followed the father's trawler from harbor to harbor. Mascalzone Latino Audi Team’s skipper talent emerged at the RNZL Yacht Squadron’s “Youth Match Race Program” in Auckland. He also owes much to yacht-owner Karl Kwok’s support, who always entrusted him with his Beau Geste yachts. Brady’s victory in the Congressional Cup in '96 went down in the history of match racing, a victory he defended the following year. Gavin made his debut in the Cup in 1995 as Chris Dickson’s tactician on Tag Heuer. He was also at Dickson’s side during BMW Oracle’s campaign in Valencia. In 2000 Brady raced on America One and 2003 he sailed with Luna Rossa. He won the Sydney to Hobart in 1997 and The Admiral's Cup in 1999. Brady has also sailed in two round the world races, the Whitbread 1997-98 and the VOR in 2001-2002. Gavin Brady has won 4 world titles and competed in the Sydney Olympics in the Star class.
